Cookies and Caches

We use cookies and caches to track your activity on our site. Cookies are small files that store information about your browsing activity, such as the pages you visit, the searches you make and new features that may interest you. We also use them to monitor traffic across our sites, so we can see where users are coming from and how they move through our content.

Caches are similar to cookies but act as a temporary storage space for meta data on your computer or device. You may not notice this happening when browsing the web because it happens automatically in the background without interrupting any other processes or functions on your computer or device.

What cookies do we use?

To help us improve your experience and to help us send you relevant content, we collect data on the way you use our website, platform, product and services. This includes:

Meta Expo is not responsible for the privacy policies of third parties, nor do we make any representations about those parties. If you provide information to a third party, you are subject to that third party’s terms and conditions. We encourage you to review the terms and conditions of these other websites before providing them with any information.

Access to information

  • You have the right to access your personal data.
  • You can ask us to correct any information we hold about you.
  • If we refuse to correct your personal data, you have the right to ask us to delete it instead.
  • If you want us not to use your personal data for our own purposes (for example, for marketing or research purposes), you can also ask for this restriction of processing by contacting us via email at privacy@metaexpo.org

Consent

Consent is a key part of both the GDPR and CCPA. It is required for the use of personal data, but it should be specific, informed and freely given. Consent should not be a one-time thing; you need to keep asking for it again from time to time. Also, it can be withdrawn at any time.

Consent for processing data should be separate from other consents that may apply to your business or website (for example if you want someone to subscribe to an email newsletter). In such cases, consent must always be given explicitly by people who can give it.

The person who has provided consent needs to understand what they are agreeing too; how long their consent will last; what sort of information will be collected and used; who else might access this information. We will ask for your consent from time to time, depending on which of our services and products you use. We may collect your consent on the platform you are using, on our site, or even via email and other means of communication like SMS, Instant Messaging Apps, and more.

We only collect your data if you agree to it.

If we collect your personal information, we will always ask for your consent before collecting it. We will also tell you what data we are collecting and why. If you do not agree to give us the information we require, then we cannot provide the service or product that you want to use.

We may collect certain types of data when you visit our website:

  • Basic information about who visits our site (e.g., time and duration of visit, pages viewed);
  • Information on how visitors navigate around our site and interact with it;
  • Details of what visitors do after they leave our site (e.g., whether they return later).

Change is coming to the way companies are able to use your personal data.

You have the right to know what data is being collected about you, who is collecting your data, why your data is being collected, how your data will be used and any update or changes in data policy. These rights are known as the “GDPR Rights (EU)” and “CCPA Rights”, and they are applicable from 20 July 2022 onwards.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of India is coming and it’s going to change the way companies use your personal data. This is great news!

We are always there for you.

We want to be upfront about the changes in legislation and how they will impact you. We will do everything we can to protect your data, but we need your help as well. If you have any questions about this policy or our use of your personal information, please contact us at support@metaexpo.com.
